![]() ![]() ![]() This dealer has a pretty good selection of used guns as well, so I perused the used case and spotted a beautiful blued model 66 with 4" barrel. I went to my LGS this morning with one thing in mind: To walk out with a new Model 66. Does anybody here have an idea as to the age of this gun? I can't wait to go shoot it! The serial# is 6 digits, 121xxx, no letters. So I went to Taurus's website to do a serial number look up, and came up empty handed. So I took the plunge and went with the old 66. Price was just a little more than I wanted to pay for a used gun, but it did come with a holster, which I would have needed anyway, and I was still saving enough over buying brand new that I was able to load up on ammo. So I held it in my hand, and I also held the brand new 66 models. Not a mark on it, deep, rich bluing, beautiful walnut grips, smooth function, tight lock up and timing is right on. I am not opposed to buying an older gun to save money, as long as it looks clean and well cared for, and functions smooth, as this one did. ![]()
